Are you still buzzing from this year’s Pride celebrations? Well, it’s never too early to start planning where you’re going to be heading next year!

  2019 Pride in Europe
To help get your inspiration flowing, we’ve put together a quick list of our favourite European Prides to get you in the mood.

Vienna
One of Central Europe’s biggest Pride celebrations takes place in the majestic city of Vienna, on the banks of the mighty Danube. Pride in Vienna sees the city’s famous Ringstrasse taken over by the Rainbow Parade before the 100,000+ revellers descend on City Hall Square. As one of the earliest Prides on the calendar, this is a great way to start your summer.

When is it? 1 June – 16 June 2019

Amsterdam
It should come as little surprise that Amsterdam ranks highly when it comes to the best places to celebrate Pride in Europe. The Dutch capital has a reputation as one of the most open-minded cities in the world and that really shows when it puts on its impressive Pride extravaganza. Amsterdam hosts its pride parade on the maze of canals that criss-cross the city — so expect a lot of Dutch oranje flying proudly on the armada of pride boats!

When is it? 27 July – 4 August 2019

Madrid
Alongside Barcelona and Sitges, the Spanish capital puts on one of Iberia’s most unforgettable Pride celebrations. The parade itself takes in the city’s grand main boulevard, Gran Via, but the nearby gay neighbourhood of Chueca is where the party really happens. All roads lead to Plaza de Chueca, but there are clubs and bars for every taste in the surrounding backstreets.

Copenhagen
When Copenhagen holds its annual Pride celebrations, the whole city is taken over by that unmistakable feel-good factor. While the Danish capital’s celebrations might be smaller than some others on this list, the locals more than make up for it with their diversity, openness, and warmth. And if that’s not enough, Copenhagen is gearing up to host World Pride 2021!

When is it? 13 August – 18 August 2019

Cologne
Although most people associate Cologne with its grandiose cathedral, it’s actually one of Europe’s most gay-friendly cities and unsurprisingly its Pride celebrations do not disappoint. Cologne has not one, but two gay areas and the bars get packed with revellers once the Christopher Street Day parade quietens down.
