Wool socks seem to be going out of fashion, and are either too thick (like Norwegian skiing socks) or too thin, made from merino wool. These appear a good compromise; robust but not excessively thick. The cost might be considered slightly higher than your average sock, but as they were just under £10 I have not deducted a star. I will consider buying more provided they last.
